Report a penis implant to a man with erectile dysfunction (ED), and you may get a cracked look. The idea of surgery in his private parts is likely to make any man. And, of course, there are questions. Will the implant work? Will there be complications? Will sex feel the same? What do the partners think?

These are all valid concerns. However, research over the years has found that implants have high levels of satisfaction from men and their associates.

What is the penis implant?

A penis implant (sometimes called penis intent), is a device that allows a person to get an erection whenever he chooses. The implant is placed inside the body. No part of the implant is visible. Sexual sensations, ejaculation and orgasm remain the same for most men.

In basic terms, implant surgeons remove the Corpora Cavernosa – two spongy chambers in the penis. Usually, these chambers are filled with blood to form an erection. The tissue is replaced by implant materials, which form the erection differently, depending on the type:

  • Mollabele (semi-rigid, flexible) The implants are placed rods on the penis axis. When a man wants to have an erection, he just lifts the penis in his place. When it is done with sexual activity, it places it again.
  • Joyless Penis implants are a little more complicated. Instead of bent bars, the surgeons place two cylinders into the penis axis. These cylinders are attached to a pump that is surgically mounted on the scrotum. To have an erection, man activates the pump, which fills the rollers with liquid, making the penis upright. After the sex, it turns off the pump and the penis returns to the state of (not upright) condition. Inflatable implants come in two varieties. Three -piece units Include the cylinder pair, the pump and a liquid containing liquids. With two pieces units, The pump and the tank are in the same unit.

Why take an implant?

While less invasive treatments for ED, such as pills, injections and under, help many men, are not suitable for everyone. Some men just don’t have success with these options. And others cannot use them. For example, men taking nitrate -containing drugs cannot take ED pills because drug interactions could cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Are men satisfied?

Experts say yes, mostly. Following is a brief summary of the survey conducted in the last two years:

  • In June 2018, Bju international He published a study of 142 Italian men with implants. Men tend to be satisfied with their implants a year after surgery. The most experienced surgeons were more likely to have satisfied patients.
  • July 2018 A newspaper of sex medicine The study of 902 men with implants reported that 93% were very pleased six months after implantation. Those who encountered significant complications were less satisfied.
  • A November 2018 document in Critics They reported that the satisfaction rates of patients and partners were over 85%.
  • Survey published in A newspaper of sex medicine In May 2019, he analyzed the satisfaction of couples with implants in a group of 883 men and their associates. About 90% of people with supple implants said they were “somewhat” or “very” satisfied. The rates for these categories were 96% for men with two -piece inflatable implants and 99% for men with three -piece inflatable devices. Most of the couples stated that the implant was fulfilling their expectations and that the device was easy to use. In addition, most said they felt confidence in their ability to participate in sexual activity.

Implant advantages

Many men enjoy the spontaneity offered by implants. Instead of waiting for other treatments to come into force, they can create their erection right now. Some feel more male who has restored their erectile function and more confident are able to thank their partner.

Implants disadvantages

On the other hand, implants can have some disadvantages. As with any surgery, there is a risk of infection. Devices’ malfunctions are rare, but it is possible. There could be some penis shortcut (though some men do not notice). And some men do not like the “artificial” aspect of an intention.

A great decision

While most men and their partners are satisfied with their implants, only you and your partner can decide what is best for your personal situation. It is important to prepare and have realistic expectations. Also, keep in mind that implant procedures are not reversed. Once replaced by Corpora Cavernosa, they cannot be restored.

Be sure to inform your urologist if you or your partner have any questions or concerns.
