If you love the sweet and limiting magic of a McGriddle, but you want a healthier version, these McGriddle egg bites are for you! Each bite is full of fluffy eggs, a touch of maple syrup, pancakes and salty sausage, is the perfect breakfast. Proof that you can have your cake (Pan) and eat it!

How to make egg bites

These egg bites come quickly together! Reinstate the pancakes, cook and cut the breakfast sausages, beat the eggs with a touch of cream and maple syrup and lay everything into muffin boxes: sausages, cheese and pieces of pancake. Pour the egg mixture that overcome and bake in a water bath for a soft, fluffy texture. Once it has cooled, store them in the fridge for easy breakfast all week!

Note: This recipe utilizes remaining pancakes. My go-to is my famous angel cake, but every pancake will do.

What is McGriddle?

If you already know, then scroll, but for those who can’t be, McGriddle is a popular McDonald’s breakfast sandwich featuring a sausage patty, egg and cheese between two cakes with inflatable slingshots. It is the final combination of sweet and salty. These McGriddle egg bites get this classic taste and turn it into a convenient, meal-friendly preparation.

McGriddle egg bites

If you love the sweet and limiting magic of a McGriddle, but you want a healthier version, these McGriddle egg bites are for you! Packed with fluffy eggs, a touch of maple syrup, pancakes and sausage sausage, is the perfect breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 4
    morning sausages
  • ½
    cup
    chopped cheese cheese
  • 2
    pancakes, cut into ½ “pieces
  • 8
    eggs
  • 2
    tablespoons
    18% cream
  • 1
    tablespoon
    maple syrup
    plus for service

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 f and lubricate 8 cups from a muffin tin. Complete a baking sheet in half with water and place in the oven.

  2. Heat a pan over medium high temperature. When the pan is hot, add the breakfast sausages and cook until browned and cooked, about 5 minutes, occasionally turning. Remove from the pan and cut into thin slices.

  3. Mix the eggs with the cream and maple syrup.

  4. First you distribute sausages, cheese and pancakes between the muffin boxes. Pour the egg mixture into the top, dividing equally between the muffin boxes.

  5. Carefully place the muffin tin on the baking sheet (will sit in the water) in the oven. Bake for 16-20 minutes, until the eggs are adjusted. Remove the egg bites from the pan and set aside to cool before placing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to eat! Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
