This is the year we’re entering, and we can choose to enter it thinking about the challenges that preoccupied us in the past and perhaps allow ourselves to marinate as we move forward. Or we can pinch and shake off the cobwebs of last year and focus on the greatness that surrounds us. Let us begin to dance this dance with the best of our highest intentions.
Every year we make resolutions and never keep them. What would your life be like if your decisions were valid?
Consider specifically:
- What would your financial situation be?
- What would your love and family life look like?
- How would your health be?
- What would your professional sphere look like?
Now, I wonder if there is even a purpose to the resolutions other than to create a platform from which to feel guilt and shame when we once again fail to uphold them.
This year has presented us with all types of challenges that most of us have never seen in our lives. Some have been able to spend time looking inward to think about which side of the future we want to be on. Others have spent the last few months trying to keep their heads above water. Others were anywhere and everywhere in between.
And so, for the coming year, I invite you to free yourself from the pressure of creating resolutions in the first place.
Forget resolutions
Together we will move beyond specific personal resolutions and instead create, cultivate and manifest wonderfully intentions. You see, intentions are easy because they don’t tie us to an outcome. Intentions simply ask that we go through our day, hour by hour, being as mindful, conscious, aware, and awake as we can be in that moment.
Intentions invite us to do our personal work to become more of a human being, and less of a human thing or human thought.
Try these intentions on for size:
I am:
- Present
- Tender
- Healthy
- Fearless
- Creative
- Focused
- Carefree
- Light
- Passionate
- Reckless
- Sleepless
- Lively
- Abundant
- He was transformed
- Peaceful
- Happy
I could go on and on. When we go about our day’s activities wearing an intention of love, vitality or health, it doesn’t matter what we do. Our actions will take on a different quality. We free ourselves from the idea that we have to achieve a weight loss goal, a financial goal, a five-year plan, or conform to any status quo that isn’t actually us.
Setting your intention at the beginning of your day and reminding yourself as often as you can to be alive, awake and loving will transform you from the lamp that lights a room to the source of electricity that lights the lamp . Does the switch turn on? Do you understand this?
You have the ability to be the source of energy to make your wildest dreams come true.

Do you know what will happen?
Every resolution you have ever made in your entire life will be achieved. Health, happiness and prosperity is your birthright. The law of attraction does not work by enabling us to magnetize great things through our thoughts. It works by inviting us to see the greatness that is right now within us and around us so we are more ready to say YES to the opportunities, people, places and experiences that bring us more than we desire — because we are awake see what it happens
When our intentions are to bring our greatest selves into the world for positive contribution, to do our best in whatever we do, the universe conspires in our favor to make that happen.
And it all starts very simply. Set your intention now and remember it every day when you wake up. Think about it as you fall asleep. And keep it in your mind and heart as often as you remember it throughout the day. You’ll be surprised at what unfolds.
Today is the day!
Now it’s your turn. Complete it in the comments below: This year, I am….
