No, Tylenol does not make you last longer in bed. It is a pain reliever and fever reliever and works by increasing your body’s pain threshold which has nothing to do with ejaculation function or premature ejaculation (PE).

In fact, Tylenol along with other acetaminophen is more likely to make things worse for men in bed.

How?

Keep reading to find out…

This article explores the relationship between Tylenol and longer duration in bed and effects on premature ejaculation in men.

What is Tylenol?

Tylenol (generic name: acetaminophen) is an over-the-counter (OTC) medication used as a pain reliever and fever reducer along with other medical symptoms such as cold, headache, flu, muscle pain, cramps, and certain types of allergies. It works by increasing the body’s pain threshold so that pain becomes tolerable and manageable. Acetaminophen is the main active ingredient used in Tylenol.

Tylenol is the brand name of the drug acetaminophen.

Acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol) is a non-opioid analgesic drug used as a pain reliever. It is the first-line treatment that should be used for pain relief worldwide, as recommended by WHERE. It is also used as an antipyretic (medicine used to treat fever) and has been approved by the FDA since 1951. Acetaminophen is mostly combined with other drugs, and there are more than 600 OTC drugs that contain some form of it.

Tylenol is one of those manufactured by McNeil Consumer Healthcare which is owned by Johnson & Johnson.

Tylenol side effects

Tylenol is generally safe to use and has no side effects. It has a low risk of causing allergic reactions. In rare cases, it can cause the following side effects:

  • Allergic reaction
  • Skin rash or itching
  • Stomach ache
  • Dizziness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Respiratory problems
  • Dark urine
  • Liver disorder.

Side effects are more common in people who take an overdose. The recommended dose of Tylenol is 325-500 mg every 4 hours until symptoms last. The limit is 4000 mg per 24 hours, which is considered an overdose and can lead to serious side effects.

Tylenol Vs. Ibuprofen

Tylenol is often confused with ibuprofen, however, these two have a few differences as noted below:

  • Tylenol is a brand name while ibuprofen is a generic name for an over-the-counter pain reliever that has brand names like Advil and Midol.
  • Tylenol is an analgesic and antipyretic (meaning it treats pain and fever). Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain, fever and inflammation.
  • Tylenol works by increasing your body’s pain threshold, while ibuprofen reduces the body’s ability to produce prostaglandins (natural pain-causing chemicals). So ibuprofen reduces the chemicals that cause pain.

So, the major difference between Tylenol and Ibuprofen is how they both work and the symptoms they treat. Tylenol only treats pain and fever while ibuprofen treats pain, fever, and inflammation. And the mechanism of action is different with both of these over-the-counter medications.

Does Tylenol make you stay in bed longer?

No, Tylenol (or any acetaminophen) does not make you last longer in bed. It is a pain and fever medicine and has no effect on premature ejaculation.

Even in excess, Tylenol does not treat premature ejaculation (a sexual disorder where men orgasm too quickly and before they want to during intercourse) and is less likely to have any effect on orgasm or ejaculation.

In fact, regular acetaminophen use is associated with sexual dysfunction and impotence.

ONE study (as reported by NBC News) highlighted the negative effect of too much acetaminophen on men. It was a survey of 81,000 men. The results revealed that men who took painkillers regularly at least 5 times a week were 38% more likely to have erectile problems. 64% of men who took a pain reliever regularly said they never had an erection.

The pain relievers included in the study were aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen and Celebrex. The authors concluded that regular use of pain relievers including Tylenol is associated with erectile dysfunction (ED) in men.

The way Tylenol works after entering your body shows that it has no effect on the ejaculation reflex and the ejaculation process. It raises your body’s pain threshold which increases the maximum pain you can tolerate. This, scientifically, has nothing to do with the duration or time of ejaculation.

It’s safe to say that Tylenol doesn’t make you last longer in bed, and it’s not related to premature ejaculation. Regular use can fail and cause erectile dysfunction without any positive effect on orgasm.

What makes you last longer in bed?

Tylenol does not help delay ejaculation or make you last longer in bed. It is useless, rather dangerous, to use Tylenol or any other acetaminophen for premature ejaculation.

If you want to last longer in bed, there are better, genuine and safe ways as discussed below:

1. Herbal Tablets

Assuming you are interested in using a pill or tablet to make it last longer, you should consider using herbal tablets for premature ejaculation. These pills are made from plant extracts, herbs and spices based on ancient medicinal systems like Chinese and are quite effective.

The best thing about herbal supplements is that they have no major side effects. You can buy a pill online without a prescription and try it to delay orgasm during intercourse.

Learn more about herbal pills to last longer in bed here.

Quick recommendation: One of the only herbal tablets for PE that is backed by scientific evidence is ProSolution Plus. A clinical study reported that it improves ejaculation duration by 64% with no side effects. Men who used it for 60 days saw up to a 64% improvement in the duration of their ejaculation.

Buy ProSolution Plus.

2. Desensitization Products

Male genital desensitizers are among the most used products for PE, and that’s mainly because they’re FDA-approved. A male genital desensitizer uses a local anesthetic or herbal numbing agent that desensitizes the penis for 30-60 minutes, and this helps you last longer in bed – much longer.

The best thing about desensitization products is that they work instantly (in 5-15 minutes). You need to apply it on your penis right before intercourse and it will do its job. This makes these products suitable for men who need immediate improvement in ejaculation time.

Tablets, on the other hand, don’t work right away. You need to use it regularly to see an increase in ejaculation duration.

Quick recommendation: Check out VigRX Delay Spray. It is a herbal spray that also contains benzocaine. It doesn’t completely numb you like other numbing products, which means you can enjoy sexual activity as you don’t lose sensation. It has no significant side effects, comes in discreet packaging, has free US shipping, and offers a 67-day money-back guarantee.

Buy VigRX Delay Spray.

3. Exercise and treatments

Exercise, therapies and counseling are also an option if you don’t feel like using tablets or desensitizing products for longer in bed.

Certain exercises such as compression technique and breathing exercises help men last longer in bed.

Meditation and hypnosis for premature ejaculation are scientifically proven methods to delay climax and increase the time. But you should consult a specialist to help treat PE.

Counseling sessions are also an option you can consider.

There are certain techniques and exercises that you can use without anyone’s help, such as the compression technique.

Learn more about exercises and treatments to last longer in bed here.

4. Home remedies

You can also use home remedies to last longer in bed. These treatments include including certain foods in your diet, changing your lifestyle, and changing your habits.

This may sound very complicated, but when you follow a plan, it becomes easier.

The good thing about home remedies is that they are free and extremely healthy. You will have other health benefits in the long run.

But there are two issues.

First, you may not see results right away. Second, you need to be consistent as most home remedies require lifestyle changes.

For example, adding certain foods to your diet such as walnuts, green onions, ginger, etc. it will help you last longer in bed naturally. But it takes time.

Tylenol and premature ejaculation: No connection

Yes, there is no connection between Tylenol and premature ejaculation, so it won’t make you last longer in bed.

Regular use of Tylenol or other acetaminophen or any other pain reliever is associated with erectile dysfunction. So, it can do more harm than good.

If you want to last longer in bed, look for other ways that are effective and have no long-term side effects. You can try herbal pills, desensitization products, home remedies, or exercise and therapy. These methods are scientifically proven and safe for men – and offer much better results.

Frequent questions

Which painkillers make you stay in bed longer?

No pain medication will make you stay in bed longer. Painkillers have nothing to do with delaying orgasm, and the mechanism of action of painkillers is not related to the process of ejaculation or testicular function.

Does Tylenol Help Erectile Dysfunction?

No, Tylenol does not help erectile dysfunction. Regular use of Tylenol or any pain reliever is associated with erectile dysfunction and erectile dysfunction. So Tylenol is more likely to increase it than help you with ED.
