This diy lip mask recipe is an almost identical mask of the LaneIGe Lip Mask. However, this recipe contains only natural ingredients that you can feel good to hit on dry lips! This homemade lip mask is a star when it comes to all my lip care products. It quickly becomes one of my favorite lip care recipes. It is full of fatty acids, natural candles, natural oils and shea butter. Using this DIY Mask Moisturized lips will give you rich lips, of course!
My daughters have “noted” 3 pots of Laneige Lip’s sleeping mask for the days and Christmas in recent months. This lip balm is not on the list of beauty products that is not yet close. However, with 2 teenage girls, I choose my battles. My girls were so excited to have these lips masks and I have bigger battles to fight for toxic lip balms-lol! This gave me the opportunity to truly experience this viral mask for myself. I was able to feel the texture of the balm, to smell it and to feel it on my lips and to determine how long it lasted.
I have cleaned Pinterest and Google for DIY Lip mask recipes. I made at least 5 DIY lips masks that were not compared to the Lineige Lip mask. Initially I added Lanolin, which is a wonderful ingredient to heal and moisten the skin, but has a very smell. We ended up in love of working with Valia, but not loving it as a lip product. I tried to use soy lecithin and this made a nice product for the lips I would probably share, but that the balm was not similar to Laneige. Finally, after many attempts I landed on a recipe that is, in my opinion, perfect!
My homemade mask recipe was difficult to shape, but it’s easy to do!
What is LaneIGe Lip Sleep Mask?
The LaneGe Lip Sleeping Mask is a Korean lip product that became a virus. It is basically a good lip balm. It comes in a glass container and looks like a typical balm that we could easily make. However, there is an extra shine on it from a DIY balm. It costs a huge $ 24 for 0.70 ounces. It is intended to apply to the lips before bed and then slept in. It comes in 4 different flavors that have different colors, but they are not sweet in taste and the balm does not give any color.
According to Laneige it is a “moisturizing lip care mask, with a nutritious complex of berry fruits, Murumuru seeds and Shea butter, it offers intense, constant humidity and antioxidants at night for obviously smooth, baby-blackened lips”.

The lip mask became viral at Tiktok in 2022 thanks to Kate Moss who shared it in a video “Beauty Secrets” in Vogue and I have continued to hear about it since.
As fellow lovers of natural beauty and Diyers, you will probably notice the large amount of non -natural ingredients. Yes! I have cleared these ingredients with EWG and most of them rate one 1 but EWG indicates “limited data” In many of the ingredients that note 1, so that the jury. The overall score of the Laneige Lip mask is a 6 (10 that is the worst) mainly due to perfume and coloring.

How to naturally redefine the Laneige Lip Mask:
Basically I threw the list of ingredients and focused on texture. The use of natural oils, butter and candles is incredibly nutritious and effective when it comes to lips. The key with a truly moisturizing balm for the lips is the texture. The acquisition of texture is thick enough to reside and lock moisture, creating a major obstacle is the key.
The other difficult part of removing lips mask is shine. I already knew castor oil is a sticky, thick and shiny oil, so it had to be included, but it wasn’t enough. During the research, I discovered a candle called Cera Bellina. Cera Bellina looks identical to White Beeswax and acts to thicken the oils, but the super-power converts the oils into gels or ointments. Creates a glittering balm! Ding, Ding, Ding! It is the perfect ingredient for creating a lip mask.
The Laneige Lip mask is just between a hard and soft balm. It looks like a solid balm, but you can push your finger on it without pushing terribly hard. This can be difficult to achieve. My balm can be more difficult than the original, but it does not lose the silky glow and in some of the pictures, you can see what it looks like when you “mix” the balm which means I got a stick and scrape and mix the balm. It turns into a beautiful, silky cream when mixed!

In terms of taste, I decided to stick with the fun flavors offered by the original Lip mask and as with the DIY Bubblegum Lip Oil, I used a natural candy flavor that I think is much safer than the aroma. This is not necessary and the good Ole mint essential oil is a great way to taste this lip balm.
If you want to paint your balm, I always suggest a small lipstick rope. You will not have maintenance problems using lipsticks and only needs a small piece to give a color indicator to your balm. Other options are fibergill powder if you have one. A little goes too far.
The original lips mask contains vitamin C, a popular ingredient used for its antioxidant properties. Instead of incorporating vitamin C, I added Vitamin E, another powerful antioxidant that will provide free radical battle action as well as to help maintain your swamp for a longer period. Again, you will not have vitamin E maintenance problems.

What will you need to make a DIY Lip mask:
Stores of Stores:
Materials
- 2 tablespoons of soup. Castor oil
- 2 tablespoons of soup. Jojoba oil
- 2 tablespoons of soup. Butter
- 1.5 tablespoons. Cera bellina
- .5 TSP. Honeycomb
- .5 TSP. Vitamin E oil
- 5-10 drops of aroma *Optional
Tools
- 1-1.5 oz jar or tin
- Medium -sized container
- Glass Pyrex Measuring Cup
- Mix the stick or spoon
- Teaspoon
Instructions
- Fill a medium -sized container in half with water.
- Place the Pyrex glass cup in the water.
- Turn the top of the stove in the middle.
- Add all your ingredients to the glass cup.
- Allow to completely melt.
- Stir well.
- Remove from heat and pour into containers.
- Allow to cool well before use.
Notes
- This recipe makes just over 1 ounce.
- If you choose to add aromas, note that each taste has its own strength. For example, I find that marshmallow, bubblegum, Cotton Candy and Tutti Frutti seem to be much thinner. Cherry is the only fruit I have used and I think it is much stronger. Once your balm has cooled down and you use it, you can always remove it as we did it when we made it and add more flavor or you can “shake” the balm, making it more than a creamy consistency and add more in this way.
- I wonder if .5 TSP. of the text is absolutely necessary. Cera Bellina thickens the oils on its own and you may be able to nix beeswax and make 2 tablespoons. of Cera Bellina. I have not experimented with this ingredient in detail yet to get to know how it performs without a beeswax. Beeswax also adds barrier protection to your balm, which is really important for a sleeping lip mask.
- Jojoba Oil is a fairly common ingredient and a large carrier oil to have in your hand, but feel free to use any odorless oil you already have, such as oil or almond oil. Olive oil may not be the best if it has a strong aroma.
- I chose Shea butter because it is a soft butter. Cocoa butter, mango butter and kokum butter are very hard and make this balm difficult.
