Celebrating the upcoming arrival of a new bundle of joy is always a joyous occasion, but what about when it’s not the mom-to-be’s first rodeo? Well, it’s time to celebrate with a baby Sprinkle!

Everyone is familiar with Baby Showers, Baby Sprinkles are newer on the scene. These intimate gatherings have become increasingly popular for parents expecting a new addition to their crew. Below is my complete guide full of Baby Sprinkle ideas from themes to gift ideas and even how to host one of these special celebrations.

What is Baby Sprinkle?

Baby Sprinkle Ideas Guide - Cookies

Baby Sprinkle is a celebration for expectant parents who already have a child. I recently hosted a Baby Sprinkle for my sister who was expecting her sixth baby! In her case, this baby was a beautiful surprise that came 9 years after his younger sibling. But really, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to Baby Sprinkles. It can be for a second, fourth or even tenth baby! After all, there’s no such thing as too much celebrating when it comes to the people we love.

That said, there are some generally accepted guidelines for this celebration. Unlike the traditional baby shower, where first-time parents are showered with all the essential baby gear, a baby sprinkle is a lighter, more low-key affair, focused on celebrating the impending arrival while acknowledging the need for a few essentials and many. of love.

Baby Sprinkle Ideas to set the scene

While traditional baby showers often have a specific theme, a baby shower can be simpler. However, you can still incorporate subtle themes into your decor and activities. Below are some ideas I love!

Theme ideas:

  • Sprinkle and measure: Think… the most epic ice cream parlor you’ve ever been to.
  • Not Mom’s First Rodeo: The country is in and this theme is sure to inspire a remarkable party.
  • Oh baby! Lunch: You really can’t go wrong with brunch.
  • Baby-Q Bash: Opt for a casual backyard barbecue with grilled foods, picnic snacks, and outdoor games like cornhole.
  • Baby in Bloom: Embrace a floral theme with rich flower arrangements, botanical prints and garden-inspired decor.
  • Raindrops and umbrellas: Incorporate a subtle, baby-specific motif with soft blues, cloud embellishments and umbrella centerpieces.

Decorations and arrangements

When planning the decor and setting for a baby shower, the key is to keep things simple yet impressive.

For the ‘Sprinkles and Scoops’ theme, create an ice cream sundae bar as the centerpiece, with colorful bowls of sprinkles, cherries and a variety of toppings inviting guests to indulge in creating their perfect treat. Decorate with balloons and banners in pastel colors to evoke the playful, sweet atmosphere of an ice cream parlor. For other themes, simplicity in decorations can still create a beautiful themed event. “Not Mama’s First Rodeo” can have rustic, rustic decor with hay seats, checkered tablecloths, and wildflower centerpieces that lend a relaxed, outdoor feel to the celebration.

Each of the above themes allows for easy setup with memorable results, making your baby shower both enjoyable and easy to organize.

Organization of the Event

If you’re hosting the event, here are the things to keep in mind to make sure the party goes off without a hitch.

  • Guest list and invitations: Keep the guest list intimate by inviting close friends and family members. Send invitations well in advance, either by post or digitally, with all the necessary details such as date, time, location and any registry information.
  • Space and decoration: Choose a venue that fits the size of your guest list and desired atmosphere, whether it’s a cozy gathering at home or a rental event space. Decorate the space with baby-themed decorations, such as balloons, banners and floral arrangements in soft pastel colors.
  • Food and drinks: Plan a menu that caters to all tastes and dietary preferences, including savory bites, entrees and refreshing drinks. Don’t forget to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions or allergies.
  • Activities and Entertainment: Entertain guests with a mix of activities, games and conversation starters. Provide ample opportunities for guests to socialize, share parenting tips, and bond over their excitement about the new arrival.
  • Thanks Notes: After the baby shower, be sure to send thank you notes to all the guests, expressing your gratitude for their presence and thoughtful gifts. A heartfelt note goes a long way in showing appreciation and strengthening bonds.

Baby Sprinkle Activities

You need toys and you need DIY activities!

Incorporating fun, exciting activities is key to any party. A great way to start is with games related to themes that resonate with the relaxed atmosphere of a spray. For example, in the “Sprinkles and Scoops” theme, you could have an ice cream decorating contest where guests compete to create the most inventive sundae, with a small prize for the winner. For “Not Mama’s First Rodeo,” consider setting up a mechanical bull for a light-hearted challenge, or have guests try their hand at a fake steer. I have a fun list of gender reveal toys that would work perfectly for a baby shower, check them out here!

Plus, interactive stations like a onesie decorating station or a bib making workshop are always a fun touch. These activities are not only fun but also give guests a way to leave a lasting mark on this new chapter in the family’s life. To finish, host a ‘baby wish’ session where guests can record their hopes and dreams for the child’s future, creating a touching keepsake for the parents.

What about gifts?

Think: How can I spoil this new mom with something she won’t buy herself or something that will help her as a 2+ mom?

Expectant parents may or may not create a baby registry for their baby. The focus is usually less on big-ticket items and more on basic and thoughtful gestures.

Baby Gift Ideas:

  • Diapers and wipes
  • Personalized or Boutique Baby Clothes
  • Pacifiers and teething toys
  • Personalized nursery decor
  • Board books for babies
  • Nursing pillows
  • Supply blankets
  • White noise machine
  • Marzipan
  • Double stroller
  • Cordless breast pump (these really come in handy when you have other kids to chase while you’re trying to pump!)
  • Dual Camera Baby Monitor
  • Gift cards for baby stores
  • Food delivery gift cards

Baby Sprinkles allows for a more relaxed, intimate gathering of friends and family. By choosing a theme that resonates with the family’s style, keeping the decor simple but themed, and engaging guests with fun activities, you can create an enjoyable and memorable event. I hope these Baby Sprinkle ideas have gotten you in the party planning mood!

Remember, the goal of a baby shower is to shower the family with love and support as they prepare to welcome another beautiful life into their world. So, sprinkle the day with love, laughter and shared moments that you will cherish for years to come. Whether it’s the second child in the family or the sixth, every baby is a new miracle worth celebrating.
