A few months ago I posted my recipe for the Anthropologie Diffusing Blend, which is a spoof of Capri Blue Volcano candles. I’m always on the hunt for diffusing blends that compete with toxic candles because as I’ve admitted many times, I have a strong tendency to burn toxic candles, especially in the fall. While diffusing doesn’t replace the warm magic of a candle flame, it can replace the toxic scent, toxic wax, and toxic wick of most candles we buy today. Diffusing essential oils in water is a great way to give your home a powerful scent that covers a large area. So since it’s fall and Anthropologie has a knack for capturing the scent of the season, let’s make a diffuser bomb that you can diffuse all fall long to give your home that warm, sweet fall scent.
Which candle is “Anthro Fall Diffuser Blend”?
Ha-well that’s funny. We know Anthropology stores have a signature blend which is Capri Blue Volcano and if you go to the store during the fall and holidays you will see tons of different fall candles for sale and many stores have the ones that burn instead of Volcano. I went to the store specifically trying to find the wax that goes astray in this recipe and left empty handed. I wanted to buy this so I could tweak this recipe to the best of my ability. There were so many options and none of them made sense that this particular recipe would be. Come to find out, this blend is made to mimic the atmosphere of the store during the fall. There is no exact candle after that.
I think the “Anthro autumn diffuser blend” is made up of Young Living VIPs. Because many Young Living sellers have huge social media followings, this blend has become widely known and assumed by most to be a candle.
Since there is no candle to put out, I did not find this recipe. I first found this on one of my very favorite home decor and essential oil recipe accounts, Nesting with Grace. She deserves credit. I’m just sharing because I love the scent, and as I said in my most recent post with two homemade pumpkin spice recipes, I’m always on a mission to find scents and scents that quench my insatiable need for pumpkin spice! And if I can do that in a healthy way, that’s a big win!
This recipe calls for Young Living’s Christmas Blend. I’ve been fooling around with this blend for a while now and I have to say it’s my most pervasive scent besides lavender. I love this fragrance and even make it as gifts for friends and family. It’s a simple blend of sweet orange, cinnamon bark and Northern Lights black spruce. If you don’t have the blend but want to make this recipe, my fall Anthro recipe breaks down each oil in case you don’t have the Christmas Spirit Blend! I also give you a serving recipe as well as a bomb recipe. An essential oil diffuser bomb is a recipe designed to allow you to use it many times rather than just once.

Anthro Autumn Diffuser Blend (Single):

- Turn on the diffuser and enjoy!

Where to find the best essential oils:
They are not equal oils and when I first made this blend I used a very cheap orange oil. I keep orange oil on hand for cleaning it is not the highest quality. I was excited to try this blend and ended up using my cheap orange oil and thought this blend smelled weird. I decided to get a higher quality orange oil and that made all the difference. I also found that this mixture smells even better after it sits for a day or so, if you end up trying the single batch recipe and like it, I recommend making the 1/2 ounce bomb. I say all this to say, where you get essential oils, even if they are strictly for diffusion, matters. If you don’t have these oils on hand, I’ve linked my essential oil brand of choice, Herbal treatment. They are high quality, provide transparent quality control documentation, and are very affordable with fast free shipping!
I love fall and I hope you enjoy this mix. I also have even more fall recipes with mixes you might want to try! I think it’s the spice of life when you lean into the seasons. How do you lean in autumn? I would like to know!!
xx, Jenny
