My Absolute Favorite Led Devices For 2024

I’m a huge fan of red, near infrared, green and blue light. There are literally thousands of studies that support the use of specific wavelengths of light to create healthier, brighter and younger-looking skin. My recent video and blog on the subject have the highlights of these studies and make an extremely solid case for why everyone should have LED treatment in their home gear. But if you’re after me last favorite picks in LED, this is the right place for you!!

The amazing thing is that we have seen so many fantastic LED device imports in recent years. Regardless of your budget or usage pattern (prefer to use standing, lying down, eyes open or closed, face only or other body areas, etc.), there’s a fantastic device for you.

It is my great pleasure to share this list. I’ve tried so many devices – these are truly my top picks (and I love them on my Facebook group too!!) In most cases I’ve included two options, sharing what sets them apart.

SOME advantages of LED

Non-invasive skin rejuvenator

  • It’s getting better tone and texture

  • Boosts ATP (cell energy)

Non-invasive scalp conditioner

  • Increases blood flow to the scalp

  • Stimulates hair regrowth

  • It creates a poor environment for acne-causing bacteria

My top picks for 2024:

Style: Flexible (29.5 cm x 21.6 cm, weight )

Treatment time: 10 minutes (3-5 times a week)

Wavelength: 630nm; 830 nm

Why I love this mask: There are so many good flexible LED masks out there, but HigherDose stands out in a few ways. First, is the application. The HigherDose mask has a head strap that reaches the top of the mask, creating the most secure and comfortable fit of any mask I’ve tried. Don’t underestimate the importance of a mask that fits well. Ensuring that these little LEDs hit properly and stay in place is vital to good light coverage. And since every face is a little different, having that extra strap to control how high/low the mask sits seems to make a difference. The other thing I like about this mask is the cover. It might sound silly, but it makes it easier to find among my other skincare essentials. I also love the price of this mask – it’s around $350 and I have an affiliate code for it – which makes it under $300. For quality, fit and overall design that goes a long way!

Things to know about this mask: There is NIR light with every function. This is important if you have melasma and are concerned about the LED lighting it up. The culprit seems to be NIR for most people (although some, like me, have no problem with NIR).

Style: Medical grade silicone soft shell

Treatment time: 10 minutes (3-5 times a week)

Wavelength: LED Red 630nm+NIR 830nm, Blue 415nm (3 modes) and Blue 415nm + Red 630nm

APEX GLO Technology™ optimizes light distribution

234 LEDs (78 triple LED bulbs)

Why I love this mask: This is SO INNOVATIVE!! I like that the submental area is treated with LEDs. The fit is light and comfortable especially with the straps that run from the submental area to the top of the head. Dr Rajani patented this design – and for good reason! The fit is right up there with my HigherDose mask – so comfortable.

I also love the light distribution – each bulb “spreads” the light so you get better coverage. Dr R calls this “Apex Glo Technology”…brilliant! Another feature I love is the blue + red light combo along with the submental/jawline application. This is a common area for blemishes and blue+red light is incredibly effective at reducing inflammation and clearing acne.

Things to know about this mask: There is a NIR light with every function (cannot be turned off). This is important if you have melasma and are concerned about the LED lighting it up. The culprit seems to be NIR for most people (although some, like me, have no problem with NIR).

1.HigherDose Neck and Dec

Code PEN15 for a discount!

The best neck and deck on the market! Why; Because it’s big enough to cover the whole area (which is what we want, okay?). The neck piece treats ALL around the neck and the 150 LEDs provide 50mW/cm2 for an efficient LED session. Flip it around to treat your back or put it on your belly…Slip it over your thigh/knee…It’s a good size LED that is SO versatile!

Style: Medical grade silicone soft shell

Treatment time: 10-20 minutes (3-7 times a week)

Wavelength: LED Red 630nm+NIR 830nm

1. Red Therapy Co. RedRush 400 PULSE

Style: Panel (I also bought the stand)

Treatment time: 10 minutes (3-6 times a week…I often do this daily)

Wavelength: 630nm; 830 nm

  • FDA Class II registered medical device

  • Power: 399 Watt – Voltage: 100-240V (Works worldwide)

  • LED: 133 x 3W LED (67 x 660nm / 66 x 850nm)

  • Treatment area: up to 24″ x 84″

  • Treatment time per area: 5-10 minutes

  • 100.5 mw/cm2 in 6″ – deep tissue

  • 47 mw/cm2 at 18″ – energy

  • 15 mw/cm2 at 36″ – skin ⬅ this is where I sit most of the time – 3 feet away

  • Size: 9.2″W x 23″H x 3.5″Thick – Weight: 13 lbs

Selectable pulse wave technology:

Scientifically proven bioavailable wavelengths of light: 660nm RED lightweight for skin rejuvenation and surface smoothing

850nm NEAR INFRARED light for tissues, joints and muscles

Select the frequency you prefer. “New research shows that the pulse can increase the effectiveness of red light therapy by 10-15%. This is currently the only red light in the market which enables you to adapt the pulse. You can adjust the hz, which correspond to different wavelengths in the brain… New research shows you can entrain your brain waves like using binaural beats. – Eric James, Founder & CEO of Red Therapy Co

Why I love this device: This panel is THE panel for me. It’s big but not too big. It pulses but the pulse is subtle – and I like that I can adjust the HZ (pulse/wave). I use the stand and angle the panel so that I can literally roll my office chair onto the panel and enjoy the light for 10 minutes everyday. Best panel I’ve ever had so far!

I honestly love using any of my masks, patches or panels on my hands. You don’t need a separate handset. I’ve looked at the Omnilux option and it’s interesting, but I’ve never bitten the bullet.

Code Penn25 save 25% (packages excluded)

This is still my favorite LED travel buddy. She’s small but she’s strong! While I always take care of my face, I realize that my neck needs special attention. The collar does just that and is practically weightless. I can do anything with it to make it mindless. If you have this and also have a mask, you can create your own face/subpsych state… Just slip the collar under your chin and attach it to the top of the head to get a subpsych LED treatment. Viola!

Style: Medical grade silicone soft shell

Treatment time: 10-20 minutes (3-7 times a week)

Wavelength: LED Red 633nm+NIR 830nm

Code Penn25 save 25% (packages excluded)

The patch is so great for pre-surgical site healing, post-surgical swelling, wound healing, joint pain, and more. Patch is a perfect shared portable (see what I did there?). Great for scalp, knees, belly, back, legs….

Style: Medical grade silicone soft shell

Treatment time: 10 minutes a day (3-7 times a week)

Wavelength: LED Red 633nm+NIR 830nm

Treatment time: 5 minutes (5-7 times a week)

Wavelength: 630nm (red panel) 525nm (green panel) 415nm (blue panel)

This has 6000 joules of energy in the red panel and 5000 joules of energy in the green and blue panels provided by 1800 LEDs

Warranty: 3 year warranty

Why I like this panel/canopy: I like that it’s a red panel only red (660 nm). This is hard to find (in my opinion) and is a great option for people who want to avoid NIR (melasma). The green panel is FANTASTIC. Green light is less studied, but in my experience it provides a brightness unlike anything else! I love that it soothes redness and fights hyperpigmentation. This is the only green light I’ve found that seems really effective. This is very expensive – and I don’t have an affiliate code or discount BUT if you are in the office you might want to consider this for your aesthetic business as it is the best flexible panel I have ever purchased!
