I asked my Instagram followers “where to eat in Toronto?” and was flooded with responses. Here are the top answers to help guide your culinary adventures in the big city!
I’ve been visiting Toronto more often lately for business and have tender the opportunity to sink my teeth into the local food scene. I’ve really only scratched the surface: it’s a shame we’ve had enough, you know?
While I haven’t tried all of these recommendations below, I made sure to shoot the ones that were suggested over and over again. Let me know your top recommendations for Toronto restaurants in the comments below!
Oretta
This beautiful place features many authentic Italian classics representing different regions of Italy using only the best materials, all prepared in a modern style. Their happy hour is excellent and the tableside Cacio e Pepe was fun and delicious.
Gia
A plant-based restaurant specializing in fresh vegan and vegetarian pasta. Gia is one of the first restaurants in Canada to be recognized and recommended by celebrities Michelin guide.
Planta
Planta Yorkville is 100% plant-based: Bang Bang Broccoli has a cult following (and its own commercial product), but apparently the veggie burger is incredible, and they have the best vegan sushi in Yorkville according to their website. They also have locations all over the United States!
Canoe
This is top of my list to try next time I visit: highly recommended! They craft canoe dishes that reflect Canada’s diverse landscape: their chefs work closely with farmers and purveyors to source the best ingredients from across the nation.
Pai
If you’re in the market for Thai food, this is your place according to the ravers. Count me in.
Lee Restaurant
This was highly recommended, at home Chef Susur Lee (fellow Canadian influencer) serving classic French/Southeast Asian cuisine.
Sophia Yorkville
For a higher dining experience, try here for excellent Italian cuisine.
Stock Bar
A spacious and welcoming restaurant with a stylish bar and a cozy rooftop oasis serving the best steaks, the best burger, the artisanal pizza and pasta dishes you know and love are all available here.
Piano Piano
The menu includes traditional Italian food at its most delicious. If there’s a common thread that runs through PIANO PIANO, it’s a deep-rooted soulfulness and sensuality that’s simultaneously warm, welcoming and just plain fun.
Daphne
This is highly recommended with great atmosphere, beautiful decor, great food. Could you ask for anything more? I took a look at the menu and the seafood and wood fired pizzas piqued my interest along with the impressive wine list and cocktail menu. Oh, and they have the cutest porch!!
Bar Toronto
Baro is filled with colorful decor, creative Latin dishes and cocktails. This multi-level place offers a few places to eat. The Dining Room, Pablo’s Snackhouse, The Loft and Baro Rooftop. This is a place to have some serious fun!
Mandy’s Gourmet Salads
The best place for gourmet salads! Created by sisters Many and Rebecca (you can have their cookbooks) this is such a lovely place to get something fresh and also a great takeaway option.
Richmond Station
Richmond Station’s menu is inspired by local and seasonal ingredients from southern Ontario. If you’re looking for something unique, book in for their tasting menu (which changes every two weeks) and highlights the ingredients that are in peak season at the time.
El Katrin
El Catrin serves authentic, traditional and modern Mexican cuisine and has the largest selection of tequila and mezcal in the country….mic drop!
Bar Raval
If you can’t make it to Spain, you might as well try to make it to Bar Raval! It’s time for an apertivo. This Barcelona-inspired pinxto bar serves small plates and tapas to share.
