Love in Melbourne, Australia
Happy, happy moments! So wonderful to share such beautiful photos and the story of Jacinta’s and Terry’s love. Their marriage seems incredible – we only wish we were there!
Where did you meet?
We met to work in an emergency psychiatry in a hospital in Melbourne (Australia). We have been friends for many years until they were deeper and desperately falling in love! We wanted our marriage to reflect the love we had for each other and felt that we certainly had achieved this. We like to go to adventures together, see a lot of live music and generally spending time together. We decided to develop our family (which happened earlier than expected! We are very lucky) and decided to move on with marriage before our child’s birth (otherwise we thought we would never get to it).

Where did you get married and why did you choose this place?
We got married in a pub (with a upper floor room equipped with a disco ball, private bar and floor Terrance) called Prince Alfred. It was local for us and fits perfectly with our personalities and style. It was important to us that marriage feels intimate and as an exclusive party. We hadn’t sat down at dinner, just a lot of sofas and cakes and drinks. We examined some different options, but this worked with our style, as well as a central location for our guests and the ability to conduct the ceremony and reception in the same space.

Tell us about the dress!
I chose Helen’s dress in the ivory. I was looking for a dress that would be comfortable and elegant and this was noted all the boxes. I was very impressed with quality and the service from Tiffany Rose was amazing. In Australia, there are no retailers like this and I was so pleased with how easy it was to buy from Tiffany Rose, although based on the United Kingdom. It arrived quickly and at first I was a little worried that I would grow up and assured me that I could expand the date of the exchange and change it if I grow up. Where did I do! The exchange process was very easy and I was able to have a better dress that was delivered a few months later. The dress was amazing, very flattering for my 7 month old body and most importantly – comfortable. I felt really beautiful about it, and happy I could find a style that was modern and flattering.

Any advice for a pregnant bride planning a wedding?
Collect the support of friends and family – say yes when they offer to help and get all the help you can get! We were very lucky to have close people who helped us plan our day and this wedding would not have happened without them! Also make sure you have breaks and leave extra time for everything. You don’t have to hurry, that’s all your time. It was important to us that the day flows, so throw away the rules book (you already broken a marriage rule if you are planning a pregnant marriage, so why deal with any of the rest?!).
We took our photos before the ceremony to ensure that I was not exhausted as soon as we arrived. We made our ceremony short, so I didn’t stay for a long time. We only had one space such a limited movement that helped a lot. Make sure you eat! Summary – getting married for 7 months pregnant was actually a race, we only do it if you have support, there is no way to do it between the two of us (and we are both hard workers, we go to people).

Any other fun events you need to share?
The main thing that made the wedding so special was the people who joined us and contributed to our day – we had one of our best friends to marry us, another friend from our school photo, our friend’s mom we do all our amazing flowers, we had friends to create us, Relaxed, we feel very grateful and very supported a marriage is a celebration of love you share and the life you have together – you make it reflect.
