Today I am excited to share a home remedy for acne or breakouts. This DIY Acne Spot Cream is made with 4 all-natural ingredients. It’s simple to make and pretty much goes a long way so you can make a batch and use it for months. When a blemish or pimple appears, simply dab and leave it on for a few hours or overnight. This will help it dry out and heal quickly. It can also be used as a topical treatment anywhere on the body, including back acne (bacne) and acne on the buttocks.

Home remedy for acne and other skin irritations

When you think of home remedies, you might think of things like a warm tea with lemon juice and honey for a cough or sore throat. For acne, it may seem like only an over-the-counter or prescription acne treatment product will work. You might be surprised to learn that most of the results of Clearasil, Noxzema, or similar products are easy to get from a DIY skin care recipe made right in your kitchen.

This formula actually has many more uses than just an acne lotion. It’s a great all-purpose natural first aid salve that can help soothe a rash or hives (especially heat rash this upcoming hot summer!). It can help with other skin irritations such as fungal infection, dermatitis, skin breakdown, razor burn and ingrown hairs commonly seen with facial hair or beards. It is strong yet gentle and great for both men and women and is safe for babies and children.

Natural ingredients

Here is a little more information about the four natural ingredients in this recipe. They are all safe for all skin types: dry, oily, sensitive and acne-prone:

home remedy for acne

Zinc Oxide Powder is a white, odorless fine powder that occurs naturally in the mineral zinc. It is considered to be a gentle, non-irritating, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory cosmetic powder.

Keeping zinc oxide powder around the house to make homemade zit cream is cost-effective for many household uses: baby powder or talc-free body powder, diaper rash cream, foot powder, or deodorant. These are just some of the recipes you can try with it. Many customers have called it a miracle for body and foot odor, working when nothing else would. It’s also very popular to include in homemade mineral sunscreens, which we discuss more in this post.

zinc oxide powderzinc oxide powder

The zinc oxide powder we source and sell is from the USA and is pharmaceutical grade which means it is USP certified and FDA regulated. It must be 99.99% pure to meet their strict criteria. Only 5% of the entire skin care industry can meet these high standards. It is also non-nano and non-micronized, meaning it will not enter the bloodstream or be absorbed into cells. Instead, it sits on the skin to form a protective barrier against the elements and external factors.

Unrefined shea butter is a nutrient-rich cosmetic butter full of vitamins and antioxidants. Deeply hydrates the skin to soothe and repair dry, itchy, chapped skin and maintain a healthy glow.

Some people assume that it’s so rich and buttery that it wouldn’t make any “best acne creams” list, but that’s not the case. Raw shea butter is actually non-food and non-pore clogging. Even more surprising is that shea butter naturally has a high level of vitamin A. Products like Retin-A (tretinoin) are very popular because they contain vitamin A which helps increase cell turnover and collagen production, which helps treatment of acne and wrinkles. prevention. Shea butter is a great natural alternative to these products and also helps nourish your skin with high levels of nutrients that can help prevent any unwanted acne scars or dark spots in the long run.

Jojoba oil is another superstar for acne-prone skin. The oil’s chromium, zinc and iodine content makes it a natural antimicrobial. Because it is very similar to the oil produced by the skin, called sebum, it helps to stop the skin from overproducing oil, which can contribute to further breakouts. It is also extremely high in vitamins C, D and E, which promote rapid skin healing.

Camphor Essential Oil it has long been used as an antiseptic and muscle soothing lubricant. You can also recognize its strong aroma from decongestant products. This makes it great for clearing your sinuses and calming your nerves when inhaled. It can also help clear up different types of infections (including malassezia, a type of fungal acne) and helps calm redness on irritated skin. This makes it a perfect addition to this recipe and that’s why I chose it.
